Disney To Fire Vanessa Hudgens?

In case you haven’t heard, nude pictures came out yesterday of High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens that she had taken for her boyfriend. The internet exploded as everyone raced to find out if the image was real or not. Hours later, TMZ and later Hudgen’s publicist confirmed the authenticity of the photos.

That’s all fine and dandy. I don’t care if you take nude photos for you boyfriend, I’ve got more important things to worry about. In fact, now’s as good a time as any to tell you about my simple philosophy regarding life so you understand my ways of thinking more clearly when reading U Suxxors:

I don’t care what you do so long as you don’t hurt an innocent person.

That’s it. I’m a fairly mellow guy. Imagine if the whole world ran with that line of thinking. No killing, no wars, you’d just see it in the movies on Friday night. People would be more concerned with ending diseases and cancer than they would with who got naked on TV the other night and how much it offended them. I always thought that sounded like a perfect world. Priorities. No one seems to have them anymore.

The problem with the Vanessa Hudgens story comes after the nude pictures. No, the problem comes with the fact that Disney terminated their contract with Hudgens following the release of said pictures. It seems that taking naked pictures of yourself in private is grounds for employment termination now in the United States.

Kinda makes you wanna munch on a batch of freedom fries doesn’t it?

I’m not a fan of Vanessa Hudgens, nor do I dislike her. I’m completely indifferent to her. I never even heard of her until a month ago when I heard about High School Musical somewhere. I’d rant about this if Paris Hilton was in the same position and I can’t stand Paris Hilton. My problem is the last I checked Hudgens wasn’t walking down the street with her clothes off in front of anyone. She was in a hotel room or her home or wherever just as naked as you, gentle reader, get anytime you change your clothes during the day or night. Her termination came about because someone else got a hold of those photos and released them to the public without her permission or knowledge.

Put yourself in her position for a second. Imagine you’re changing your clothes one night. Imagine your settling in for a lusty night of sex with your mate. Outside, there’s a peeping tom, or someone that just really doesn’t like you. They snap some photos through the window, go home, put them on various internet sites. Your boss somehow comes across the photos online. Maybe he’s a perve. Maybe the guy that doesn’t like you directed him to the photos. Regardless, the next day you go into work, your boss calls you into the office and after a humiliating talk about these photographs you never released, he fires you.

Sound crazy? Why? Didn’t Disney just prove that could happen? Didn’t they just prove that’s their right do to this? Maybe you should start changing your clothes in the closet and screwing under the bed instead of on top of it. Never know who might be watching.

Nevermind the fact that firing Hudgens over simple nude photos is an awfully extreme response. I guess I should remember this is America, where nudity is still looked at to be some kind of product of Satan. It’s a good thing we’re not like all those European countries where nudity isn’t seen to be a big deal. All those wars they’re involved in, horrible foreign policies, poor healthcare, the fact that the number of citizens with jobs just fell in August for the first time in four years.

Yep, it’s a good thing we’re no nonsense about sex and nudity in this country, otherwise Americans might have all those problems to deal with.
