What is it with crazy college students lately?
A female thought it would be a great idea to walk into Logan International Airport today with a fake bomb stuck to the front of her chest. When questioned later she claimed it was artwork and liked the way it looked.
Star Simpson, who can be seen to the right with what appears to be a shaggy blonde wig on her head, said she wanted to stand out. She succeeded. She also almost succeeded in getting a bullet through her head. According to reports, when she was questioned about the device by an airport staff member, Simpson walked away without answering. Police later caught up to her and she followed their orders to a T, which was a good idea as an officer later stated that the student is lucky she didn’t end up in a morgue.
I’m actually surprised she didn’t. If the bomb was real, can you really give a bomber time to notice you’re on to them? Can’t they just trigger the thing to go off immediately? Wouldn’t the safest bet be to shoot someone through the head and ask questions later? Common sense tells you not to walk around in an airport with what appears to be a bomb attached to your chest with wires and a battery stuck to it so it’s kinda your own fault if someone takes you down because you might be a threat to innocents nearby.
Of course, then people would scream police brutality and that they didn’t give Simpson a chance to explain what she was doing. On the flip side, if Simpson was a bomber and the cops didn’t act immediately, allowing Simpson to detonate the bomb and blow up herself and nearby children, people would scream that police didn’t act fast enough resulting in a big scandal about the ineptitude of airport security.
Sometimes there’s no winning I guess.
