BusinessWeek is reporting that MTV is launching a new 24 hour satellite station called MTV-Arabia that will begin broadcasting throughout the middle east on November 16th. Middle eastern youth are excited about the possibilities, but no one has broken the news to them yet that in 2007 MTV only plays really bad teen reality shows.
Be afraid, Arab world, be very afraid.
The US government has jumped all over the possibilities this expansion holds when it comes to the Iraq War.
“The moment those bastards catch an episode of My Sweet 16, it’s all over.” one government official was overheard saying to a cabinet aide. “Once it comes time to actually play some music, we’ll toss the latest Spears single at them. The shock to the awe. All those suicide bombers will blow themselves up before they actually leave their caves just to stop the madness.”
