Bruce Willis Had An Album And It Ruled

CrunchGear has an article up about how the DVD release of Live Free Or Die Hard will contain a copy of the movie as some kind of digital video file that’s sure to please pirates and I’m sure it’s a wonderful article because CrunchGear is a fantastic site, but that’s not why we’re here today. Oh no.

We’re here because they’ve got a picture up for Bruce Willis‘ stellar rock / blues album The Return of Bruno. I immediately thought the article was about the album and my eyes lit up not unlike it was Christmas but my heart soon deflated as I found it was about a different subject. You disappointed me CrunchGear, not unlike a baby that’s had candy given to it then yanked away before it’s sweet sugary flavor could be enjoyed. That’s ok though, because I will harp for a moment about the joys of The Return of Bruno

I first discovered this tape in my sister’s cassette collection after she moved out of our parents house and do this day she denies she bought it. Lies. Curiosity was too much and I played it after enjoying discovering and enjoying Michael Jackson’s Bad album. Fantastic. You know that feeling you get when you’re high on LSD? Of course not, I don’t either because I’m a fine upstanding citizen. I’m sure though that the feeling you get while on LSD is not unlike the feeling you get the moment you hear Bruce Willis singing about respecting yourself. The joyride doesn’t end after the final note of Flirting With Disaster when you realize it’s all over and you need to hear the sweet, sweet sound of Bruce Willis crooning on Down in Hollywood, Secret Agent Man, or Under the Boardwalk. A quick check at Wikipedia shows that Under the Boardwalk only hit #59 on the billboard charts which is criminal. I implore you to acquire a copy of that song, strictly and only through legal means, and enjoy it’s fine soothing sound.

Hell, get the whole album. Makes me wonder what Samuel L Jackson would sound like if he did an album.
