Death Cab For Cutie Guitarist Gets Hard Drive Taken By Government

Every so often I like to point out how ridiculous the Homeland Security Department is and today is one of those days. I don’t know who Death Cab For Cutie is but that’s a hell of a band name if I’ve ever heard one. Their guitarist, some guy named Chris Walla, is coming out with a solo album. Well he was, but now the Homeland Security Department has seized his hard drive that contains the songs he planned to release. Walla says the album is very political and contains songs about contraceptives, Hurricane Katrina, artwork based on military manuals, stuff like that. Walla has no way to contact the HSD about his property because they seemingly have no number.

The title of the album is Field Manual which might’ve helped get it red flagged. Now the fact that it’s a political album … do you think that might be slowing up HSD when it comes to giving the thing back? With government support so low these days they might need all the help they can get.
