I had no idea this was even possible but it turns out that children can actually donate money to presidential candidates according to the Huffington Post. I actually had to make sure this was a parody post because again I’m no political expert and I just like making fun of people like Rudy Giuliani because they look like Skeletor. It turns out that it’s a campaign fund raising tactic called bundling where you have everyone in your family donate the maximum amount of money allowable so as to donate more than you would be able to individually. How the hell can minors donate money when they can’t vote?
For that matter, what parent is going to give a couple grand to their kid and make them donate the money to Mitt Romney? Wouldn’t it make sense to maybe put the money into a kid’s bank account for the future so he could actually make use of it? Hell what am I thinking, I’m looking for sensible people in a blog looking at absurd things people do. Look at this quote though from one parent:
“My children have money. They had money from bar mitzvahs. They both earn money. They’ve been given money over the years from family and non-family. We feel it is their responsibility as it is ours to give to things that we believe in.”
Makes you wanna smack someone’s momma. So it’s the kid’s responsibility to donate money to things the parents believe in? I love it when parents actually give kids a choice and let them think for themselves. Flipping hell.
