Singapore Airlines recently came up with one hell of an idea for when you’re on a long flight with that special someone and you’re looking to relax and unwind. They’ve started putting private suites in their A380 jets. Double beds with plenty of champage certainly sounds like a more convenient way of joining the mile high club without having to deal with uncomfortably small bathrooms huh?
Actually no, because you’re not allowed to use them for any purpose other than sleeping. That’s right, they’re giving you double beds and champagne but you still can’t touch. This seems a little prudish to me of course. You’re essentially turning the airplane into a flying hotel, why not go all the way? Of course, the door appears to stay shut unless you open it or allow someone in, so who’s going to know anyway? On the other hand, screw it. Gizmodo has this thing listed as $14,320 if you want to book a suite, and $14,320 for the right to lay down in a bed instead of sleeping in a chair is ridiculous. It’s a jet, you’re not going to be there for long anyway.
