MSNBC Democratic Debate - A Politically Uneducated Look

Posted By: Jack Page on Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

Vote Stewie BrianJesus it’s a slow day on the internet. Nothing is going on, and I have half a mind to force Gal Val to cover a bunch of celebrity paparazzi pics but I’m going to try and find something going on.

Lets talk about the democratic debate last night on MSNBC. The last five minutes were spent discussing whether or not Dennis Kucinich did or did not see a UFO at some point in his life. Swear to God. I missed the first hour because I’ve recently discovered the joys of Family Guy and a two hour marathon was running last night on TBS. Priorities. From what I did see, I thought Barack Obama’s voice kept cracking and he looked pretty nervous throughout the thing. On the other hand, the poll on MSNBC says most people thought he won so what do I know. Hillary Clinton had to dodge a question about whether or not she’d support giving drivers licenses to illegal immigrants, something that doesn’t really make a whole hell of a lot of sense to me. Why give licenses to illegals? Doesn’t the whole meaning of illegal immigrant mean they’re not supposed to be here? She’ll win the presidency but she lost any support she had from me with that one. I think I’ll just write-in Stewie Griffin at this point. Or Brian. I haven’t decided yet.

I know absolutely nothing about Joe Biden’s policies but I have to say on a personality level I like him more than anyone else that was on the stage last night. Came across like a logical, cool guy.

Chris Matthews talked for awhile on the post debate with a couple officials from PA. An Iraqi war protestor jumped out of the crowd and ran on screen with a large sign in an attempt to stop the war. Shockingly, it failed. The funniest part was Chris Matthews staring at the man with a blank look on his face. I don’t think he knows how to communicate with people that aren’t politicians, he’s that into politics. Interestingly, there were a vast amount of Ron Paul signs in the crowd right in front of the camera including an enormous banner.

I don’t care anymore though. I’d like to see big changes and I don’t think we’re going to get any out of the current front runners. The people I’m most interested in aren’t anywhere near the front of the pack. Unless something drastic happens, it’s a race between Stevie Griffin and Brian for my vote.
