Maybe someone can enlighten the rest of us as to why running with an iPod during a marathon is a bad thing because try as I might I can’t figure out what the problem is even after doing some searching. Someone on MSNBC this morning briefly discussed Katie Holmes running a marathon recently in New York City, and some paper is calling her out for listening to an iPod or some sort of MP3 player during the race. Is this illegal when running a marathon or something? I seriously can’t fathom why listening to music while running would be a bad thing. Any runners or walkers out there know that while that form of cardio is great for you body, it can be boring as all get out after awhile unless you’ve got something to listen to on the trip. Holmes ran just under five and a half hours in this thing and while I’m sure the likely screams of approval from spectators about her lack of a bra while running were in their own way music to her ears, after awhile you need something a little more pulse pounding to listen to.
