What the hell is going on with the UK? I keep running across all these wacky stories from England lately which is fine and all because it gives me a break from celebrities but damn. Zany.
A woman in the UK has been jailed because she’s unable to get her daughter to go to school. Some of the excuses her daughter comes up with includes bad hair days, cat hair on her pants, or her hair was dyed a color she didn’t approve of. The mother is serving a two week jail sentence and daughter is still refusing to go to school, opting instead to go shopping. God, she’s got the UK version of Britney Spears as her daughter. The daughter says she simply doesn’t like going to school.
Now I took days off in school, but it was mainly in elementary / junior high when I was getting straight As all the time and it wasn’t hurting me at all. This chick however has missed 90 days so far out of a 20 week period. Assuming England works like the US and kids go to school for five days a week, that means she’s been in school 2 weeks out of 20.
I’m assuming the mom isn’t that concerned otherwise she’d just drag the kid to school or have someone do it for her. Let the little twit embarrass herself in front of everyone if she’s going to be that difficult.
