There’s been a slight bit of scandal on the internet over the last day or so regarding that new Disney flick set to open called Enchanted. The movie tells the tale of a princess that gets sucked into modern day New York by an evil witch, an act that immediately makes this witch one of the most evil characters I may have ever heard of. A goofy prince follows the princess to New York and hilarity of course ensues as medieval fantasy culture clashes with the bustling no-nonsense lifestyle of the modern era.
The issue in question relates to a scene where the prince is standing on top of a bus in a scene that I’m sure is so side splitting you might want to invite your doctor to come see it with you. Supposedly, you can hear someone yelling off camera in a New Yawk accent “Get the f*** out of here!” Others say the man is yelling “Get that bus out of here!” I decided to investigate by watching the short scene in question over at Slashfilms.
My conclusion is that people really, really want the man to be yelling f***, because you’d have to have something seriously wrong with your hearing to hear it that way otherwise. He clearly yells “Get that bus out of here” with a clear, sharp t sound at the end of the word “that” and a clear b at the beginning of bus. But I’ll let you listen and judge for yourself.
