Was Miss Puerto Rico Lying? *Gasp!*

Miss Puerto Rico LyingI did not expect to touch on this story again unless it was to rant on MSNBC for bothering to bring the girl on live in studio this morning for one of the most unexciting quick interviews of the past 50 years at the very least. However, something interesting is coming out today regarding at the whole Miss Puerto Rico beauty pageant scandal — the one where someone allegedly sprayed mace on Ingrid Marie Rivera’s gown and in her makeup. In the midst of all this beauty angst, chaos, and general pain, how was Rivera able to compose herself enough to continue on with the competition? I heard someone mention as well this morning and no one may have actually witnessed her being treated, though the pageant spokesman talks about the reaction in such a manner that makes one believe he may have been there.

If the incident was made up, I’m quite curious as to the reasoning since Rivera apparently didn’t tell anyone about it until after she had won her crown. Thus, it wouldn’t have been concocted in order to help her out. Perhaps she was looking for media attention to help her win whatever the next major upcoming pageant is.

Rivera’s bag was also stolen before the pageant, containing gowns, makeup, and whatever else beauty pageant contestants carry around.
