Denise SurvivorMy office desk has … pink stuff all over it this morning.

For awhile as many of you know, I was following Survivor and cheering on James to the million dollars. One week, I forgot to watch for some reason, I think because Thanksgiving screwed up my schedule. James was eliminated that week and I just said screw it. Stopped watching after that, my heart wasn’t in it anymore. I guess Todd won, which is fine because Courtney didn’t win.

Now there’s a scandal breaking out regarding the mulletted lunch lady Denise. Sadly, since I didn’t watch the finale I guess I missed her crying about how she lost her lunch lady job, was demoted to a janitor position, and rarely saw her kids due to the new schedule. Somehow, she ended up getting a $50,000 check for the story from Mark Burnett because everyone felt sorry for her. Hey Mark, this blog is as real as real gets, I’m living off ramen, and I never see my cat until late at night when all I want to do is crash. Can I get a check? I’ll even take less than Denise. $30,000 would be fine.

Anyway, the story gets better. According to the school superintendent, Denise LIED like a dog on the reunion show, and was actually a janitor before she even left to film Survivor. After filming, she was actually promoted to the role of full time custodian. The school district got wind of Denise’s comments portraying them in a negative light and issued a press release exposing the truth. Excerpts can be viewed at Reality Blurred.

You think that’s awkward? Denise appeared on the Today Show this morning with her boss Nancy Lane, the superintendent that issued the press release, and admitted she made misleading comments. Now she says that she loved her job as a cafeteria worker so much that she wanted to be demoted and received lower pay just for the thrill of cooking tasteless, unhealthy food probably scooped off the floor for the kids of her school once again. Yeah, I have bad memories of cafeteria food. Lane said she never heard anything about this. Denise dodged questions about the $50,000, which probably means she’ll still take it if offered.

To be honest, she probably didn’t think that if she lied at the reunion show, she’d end up with a $50,000 check in the end. I’ll give her that much credit. With that said, she shouldn’t have gotten the check. James should’ve received the check just for being James. Besides, the guy is a gravedigger. His job is to dig holes in the dirt. He can’t be making a fortune either. They should’ve done a Rupert and just given him a cool million for that matter.
